I use a previous version of x2 daily, and I love it. But this toolbar business is a major deal-breaker, sorry.

I don't want another cluttering up toolbar, just the X2. Since they are stuck together I'll stay on my old version.

Don't go the way of so many companies like Norton who stick so much useless extras in their product the original software becomes useless bloated junk.

Shame no upgrade for me.

couple years ago, I tried the trial of pro. it takes a while to learn to use whichever features attract you. i no longer recall what Pro stuff seemed better than Lite. possibly the searchfilters, but I also recall they were difficult to use. :-( I never tried the "flat" whatever feature(s).
Seems xlite2 prefers decent hardware. I avoided running a lot of heavy other stuff when running xlite2 on a 800mhz, 512mb winxp. (though I may try whichever is the youngest 9x-compatible version on even older 300mhz 128mb win98se :-) )
even if a bit heavy for very old pcs, it has great features for 2pane (+tree) explorer.
anyway, am d/l the latest ver now...

First off, you only need to un-tick a box during installation and the search bar will not be installed.

This is a really useful piece of software and and you will only need to upgrade to the professional version if you are a high end user; this free version is perfectly good enough for most.
Can be set to start with windows and replace explorer. I like it! Go on, try it......

I have been to 3 different websites to download xplorer2 lite toolbar bundle. I still haven't found a clearly marked and easily defined download link. However, the full download 30.00 link is clearly visible. I researched 3 more links to the place where the purchase is made and still haven't found the name of the company selling it. It may be a great program, But it's too hard to find it from it's original main website. Easily found buy going to Download.com. Still haven't tried the product yet. If it is a bundled with a search toolbar then that's a strike against it already. That's all everybody needs. Another search toolbar. I really hope to give it a try soon.

An excellent software. It has been good features and a fast response. I highly recommend this software as a replacement for the normal windows explorer.

I highly recommend this software. I have gotten so much benefit out of it, I am not going to purchase the regular version. Many thanks to the developers for making this excellent program available to all.
